Serious question, why do we act like video pitches beat real coffee meetings?
Back when I launched my thing in 2012, you had to meet people for coffee to get anywhere. These days, folks just send a link and call it a day. I got my best advice and deals from those messy, in-person talks, not from perfect slides. The human connection is what actually makes stuff happen, and we're losing that. Let's stop pretending a screen is the same as looking someone in the eye!

Mike lost a deal over a video call glitch last week.

Hey @derek_nelson79, do you think the glitch was really what cost Mike the deal? I see it differently (like, maybe the client was already on the fence). Technical issues happen all the time, and good deals usually survive them. Maybe Mike's pitch wasn't as strong as it needed to be, you know? It's easy to blame the tech, but often it's something else.

Totally agree, tech problems are just a handy excuse. I lost a client last month because my demo was weak, not because the screen froze. People blame the tools when the real issue is the pitch, right?
