Vent: A client in Phoenix told me my website copy was 'corporate fluff' and it stung
He said, 'I have no idea what you actually do after reading this.' I was trying to sound professional, but it just made things vague. I rewrote every service page to use plain words and saw a 20% jump in contact form fills in two months. Has anyone else had to kill their favorite buzzwords to get real results?

Forget sounding smart, just be clear.

What changed your mind, seeing how clear writing actually makes you sound like you know what you're talking about?

Had a professor in college who graded us on clarity, not big words. He'd mark up essays with red pen if we used jargon. My writing got way better after that. Simple language actually takes more work sometimes. It forces you to really know your stuff.
