Warning: Coworking space cafe trap I fell into last month

Went to WeWork in Austin for a day pass. Noticed their cafe prices were way higher than the coffee shop across the street. $7 for a latte. I bought two before I realized. Spent $14 on drinks before noon. Then I saw their wifi speed test - 15 mbps down. That's half what the free library offers. Check the pricing and the connection before you buy a day pass. Anyone else get burned by hidden costs at these places?

That $7 latte really stung, but the wifi thing is what gets me. I checked once at a similar place and got 12 mbps down, which is basically useless for video calls or uploading anything. The real trick is to walk in, ask for their day pass price and a speed test before you even sit down, it saves the headache later.
