GlamGlow's Supermud is a $69 scam, change my mind...

It dried out my skin and left it red for days... My homemade oatmeal mask works better.

This whole cycle @brian_martin75 mentioned just preys on our fear of missing out, doesn't it?

That Beauty Insider podcast said it's basic kaolin.

Notice how the beauty industry cycles through ingredients, calling them basic once they're popular. Feels like a manufactured need to keep us buying new stuff.

Seriously, how do they always manage to rebrand the same old stuff as revolutionary? I was reading this deep dive in Allure last month about hyaluronic acid going from 'miracle' to 'meh' in like two years. It's exactly the cycle @fisher.anna is talking about. They create this hype, saturate the market, then declare it basic so we'll chase the next big thing. Makes you wonder if any ingredient is ever truly essential or just marketing fodder.
