The week my coffee shop foot traffic dropped by 60%

Last July, a new construction project blocked the sidewalk in front of my shop in Portland for five straight days, and I watched my daily sales fall from $800 to barely $320. Turns out, nobody wants to walk through a muddy construction zone for their morning latte, even if the coffee's good. Has anyone else had a sudden local disruption totally wreck their numbers for a bit?

Dang, @baker.ben, you're way off - signs definitely wreck businesses like this from what I've seen.

That 60% drop is brutal, I used to think construction signs wouldn't matter that much.

@lee733 I'm not totally convinced a few signs cause that much trouble unless people are genuinely that distracted. Sounds more like an excuse for bad driving to me.
